Promoting Abortion Will Increase Violence Against Women

Scientists Call Abortion "A Form of Growing Violence" Against Women

The past days have brought a lot of focus on the topic of women and violence, due to the UN Commission on the Status of Women, which is meeting in New York under the theme of preventing violence against women.

Unfortunately, abortion advocates have lost no time in using the occasion to lobby for the expansion of abortion worldwide under the guise of “reproductive rights”. One UN report stated that countries that restrict abortion are allowing the “torture and ill-treatment” of women.

But a panel of scientists meeting in New York last week presented scientific evidence showing abortion is “a form of growing violence against women and girls.” According to a news release about the event, “indiscriminate practice of abortion is significantly correlated with coercion, a history of sexual abuse, violence during pregnancy, intimate partner violence, and with psychological consequences that may lead to suicide.”

Forced to Abort? Don't Count on Clinics to Help

 

Many people assume that if a woman or girl is being pressured or forced to abort, that she will have the right or option of saying "no" at the clinic and be given the help she needs. But the truth is that vulnerable women and girls can't count on clinics to help.

For example, Operation Rescue found last year that a Kansas abortion business was using forms that were pre-printed to indicate that no abuse reports had been filed for patients:

Abortion clinic documents now securely in Operation Rescue's possession show that Central Family Medical, also known as Aid for Women, uses pre-printed forms that are filed with the Kansas Department of Health and Environment (KDHE) indicating that no abuse reports are ever filed.
