Ads & Awareness Section
Free ads, educational materials and campaigns
for you to use, share or support

In this section ... Ads, educational materials and campaigns from The UnChoice campaign, based on evidence about unwanted abortions and aftereffects. Choose from a Mix & Match menu of materials you can use right away.

Groups who want to run a campaign should read Ads 101 first and allow time for more planning and fundraising, plus the help of a media expert to be effective. Most are suitable for either general-public or more targeted audiences. They include traditional and online media.

The Elliot Institute is offering these materials free of charge due to the urgency of these issues and the importance of new evidence. However, we appreciate any donation you're able to offer to sustain and continue this work.

With the exception of co-op ads, no alterations are permitted. You are welcome to use anything from the Mix & Match menu anywhere, anytime. Everything in this section is suitable for general-education purposes. Or, plan ahead to budget for a sustained, larger-scale multi-media campaign

The UnChoice campaign is a comprehensive campaign that requires a bit more planning and budgeting to be effective. Any effective advertising, especially a campaign, requires certain fundamentals that are especially important with The UnChoice campaign since:

  1. It's grounded in important, seldom-reported new evidence of widespread unwanted abortions (an illegal and internationally recognized human rights abuse), plus post-abortion injury, heartbreak and maternal deaths. This evidence defies the presumption of free, fair or fully informed "choice."

  2. Abortion, coercion and related issues, including maternal deaths related to abortion or pregnancy-related violence, are sensitive issues for many families. Individual experiences vary widely. These materials were developed with sensitivity to such issues. Before running The UnChoice campaign, please read Ads 101 first and/or seek assistance from media experts. Or, choose anything from the Mix & Match menu below.

4 Ways to Use the Materials in this Section

  1. Choose from the Mix & Match Menu. Use anything from the Mix & Match menu  below. These are suitable for single or limited use. (Learn more in Ads 101.)

  2. Plan ahead to run The UnChoice multimedia campaign. Running a few ads in mixed media over a sustained period of time is very effective. However, it does require following a few fundamentals of media buys and planning. It is possible to run a simple, no-frills campaign in print and/or online cost-effectively. Ask an expert to guide you if you need help, and read Ads 101 for tips. (See Option 2 below for more about The UnChoice multi-media campaign.)

  3. Donate to support this campaign and other work by the Elliot Institute. This is a great way to speed this outreach if you don't have the time or inclination to run a campaign.

  4.  Free or Low-Cost Ad, Education and Outreach Ideas. Access helpful advertising and media articles and tips in this and the PR, Advocacy & Outreach sections. See Low-Cost/No-Cost ways to use these materials. Join our e-list, too, to stay current with research, news, project ideas and resources.

"The UnChoice" major multi-media campaign

The UnChoice campaign is a comprehensive multi-media ad campaign that is more nuanced in its message and execution for several reasons. To run these ads effectively requires more planning, media buys and repetition. Especially since The UnChoice message is quite contrary to prevailing stereotypes about "choice." We invite you to run this campaign locally, but please read Ads 101 and/or consult an expert first. To be effective, you'll need a simple media plan and budget, plus a narrow and targeted "family" of a few focused, single-theme ads running repeatedly over a sustained period of time.

Trim costs by using the quarter-page black-and-white ads. Read more about how to raise funds and lower costs with Co-op Ads, plus how to plan a campaign, in Ads 101
