Co-op ads
These ads feature space to add your own information

Many of our ads are also available in a co-op version, which features a small boxed-in area where you can add your own information.

What is a co-op ad and how is it helpful?

Co-op versions have space to add your own message. For example, you can promote a local event, organization or outreach; information about local counseling or outreach services; or the name and logo of a corporate or group sponsor.

You can publicize local resources, groups or events, while also educating the public. Or, you can defray the cost of advertising by sharing it with another group, individual or corporate sponsor who gains visibility and public-service value by helping women, children and families and giving back to the community.

Most display ads are available in a co-op version. (Co-op posters too), as well as black-and-white, color, quarter-page and 8.5x11 ad formats. Click on the co-op link near each print display ad.)

The sample ad to the left shows the small boxed-in area at the bottom of the ad where you can put your message. Versioning is restricted to this boxed area.

How to add co-op text

There are several ways to add your information on the ad. For example:

Ask the media's advertising department. Graphic designers at the printing or ad department of the publication, web site or station where you advertise can insert the text you provide, following our basic Type Specifications below. Most advertisers will do this free of charge, others may charge a small fee.

Ask a graphic designer, printer or quick-print retailer to add the text. Simply email the files or download the ads and burn them onto a CD. The vendor or graphic designer can then access the downloaded pdf and add your text.

Do it yourself. Use your own word processing program and printer. Or, for internal or informal uses, such as hand-outs, bulletin boards or newsletters, print the ad from the pdf, cut and paste your text, and then photocopy or scan it.

Make handouts. You can also scan a regular (non-co-op) 8x10 ad onto legal-size paper and type your own information at the bottom to use as a handout or flyer.

There are many ways to use co-op ads:

► Promote details about your local event, such as a speaker or a video that you show.

Promote your organization and its services.

► Call attention to local resource centers for pregnancy or post-abortion assistance from private, public or civic and church groups.

Add the name or logo of an individual, organization or business willing to sponsor the ad.

Versioning is restricted to this boxed-in area at the bottom and limited to the co-op text requirements below. Please keep messages informational, such as date, time, event or speaker details, or the logo of a corporate or civic sponsor.

See below for technical/text specs.

The UnChoice "Restored-Rose" Campaign

This "sub-campaign" of The UnChoice outreach focuses on both education and healing. These ads are also available in co-op version.

To find the co-op versions of the rose-themed ads, go to the The UnChoice Healing Ad Campaign page and click on the co-op links by each of the ads that you want to run.

Text specifications for customizable co-op ads

Use black text, Futura Light 12-point type (if you do not have access to Futura Light, use a similar clean, simple font).

Font, typeface and style specifications:

Text in the co-op boxed-in area must be all black, Futura Light 12-point type.  If you do not have Futura Light typeface, you may substitute with Helvetica, Arial or another common san serif font. Do not use more than one typestyle and limit use of bold-face or italics.

Limit text to basic information about your event or organization.
For example, the name of your organization, web address, contact name/number and other facts, such as the date, time and place, name and description of a local event or speaker.

Text-only is best. If a logo is used, it must be:

* in black
* in the boxed-in area of a co-op ad or poster
* small scale size and a maximum of ¼-inch in height
* 10-point type is standard, maximum 12-point type limit
* position the logo in the center or lower left side of the add-on box

To add more information, consider purchasing an adjacent ad

Limit text to one or a few lines. If you have more information that won't fit in this boxed-in area - about a special event, for example, consider purchasing a separate ad to run near or adjacent to The UnChoice ad, on the same page within the same publication.

Alterations to the ads are not permitted except within the boxed area. See Terms of Use for more information.
